“Another milestone in customer convenience. Indian Oil launches FIRST PESO APPROVED Mobile dispenser for door delivery of diesel to its esteemed customers at Pune,” a tweet by IOC said.
Though flagged off only in Pune, the oil marketing company plans on expanding the project across the country subsequently. They are also considering a similar model with petrol in mind, though nothing has been finalised yet.
Unlike diesel which is relatively safer to handle in a vending machine like the mobile dispenser, a foolproof and safe system will have to be formulated for petrol.
